Training Activities of CTC

The Institute of Child and Mother Health (ICMH) started it’s journey with three important objectives such as Human Resource Development (HRD), Research in the field of child and mother health and nutrition and Provision of Hospital based Health Care as well as at the community level. The Institute is working in collaboration with various government organizations, NGOs, Development Partners and international organizations. Centre for Training and Communication (CTC) is playing a significant role in establishing the objectives of the institute. It has got an excellent training facilities, resource persons  (Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors and Other skilled persons), hospital facilities for clinical part at training, residential accommodation, cafeteria and well security arrangement.

BCS Foundation Training:

The Special Foundation Training Course for BCS (Health) Cadre Officers: Bangladesh Civil Service Recruitment Rules, 1981 makes foundation training compulsory for all new entrants to the Bangladesh Civil Service. ICMH has been included as a training organization by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to conduct and organize the Special Foundation Training Course for BCS (Health) cadre doctors nominated by the Directorate of Heath Services under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. As medical officers, the doctors are assigned not only to provide medical services, but also to perform various administrative, managerial and executive functions. With this end in view, the Special Foundation Training Course is designed for developing professional skills and capacities knowledge of administration and financial management in public sector. The course also aims at building personality, creativity and leadership qualities into the officials participating in the Foundation Course. The course provides an opportunity to the officers to familiarize themselves with various dimensions and issues of socio-economic development of the country.

It is a two month-long special training course. However, the contents of this course are carefully selected so that the participants acquire the basic knowledge of the various theories, concepts and issues on administration and development of the government of Bangladesh and beyond.
